Artistically, I am best known for my ability to express unique methods of storytelling in entryways & window exhibitions, more specifically with handmade papers & fabricated metals. I earned my BA in Art History with concentrations in Anthropology, Classics, & Book Arts. I earned my Master of Fine Arts at Herron School of Art & Design with a focus on cultural storytelling through the use of Book Arts & Sculpture.
As for the everyday, I grew up on a local farm & attended North Putnam Community Schools. I have worked in various customer service jobs & I am sure many people in the area remember me from this past. A second chance at a new kind of life gave me the opportunity to further my education and take a new direction.
I currently teach ArtReach (an art based outreach program) to elementary & middle school students in underserved neighborhoods in Indianapolis, as well as, students (of all ages) at the Indianapolis Art Center in Broadripple. I also speak at universities and exhibit my work nationally. Creating art is only one piece of the puzzle.
